I have been photographing for over 30 years and still loving it. There is always something new and exciting to do. I see possibilities that weren't around when I first started.
After completing the RMIT Bachelor of Art in Photography I started as a freelance photographer, shooting advertising, public relations, industrial, editorial, corporate headshots and general studio photography. In 1999 my partner, graphic designer Michele Murray and I, formed the Murray Betts Group. Our client list covers local government, corporate, manufacturing, retail and small business.
I am also a sessional lecturer at Swinburne University teaching studio and location photography to 2nd and 3rd year Communication Art and Film & Television students. I am passionate about teaching, sharing my knowledge as a working photographer and in return I use their youthful enthusiasm to push me further with my own photography.
Don't be afraid of making mistakes, that's how we learn.
