A speedlight can significantly enhance your photographs, elevating them to a professional standard. Like all photographic equipment, speedlights require practice. Whether photographing a portrait, a function, a plate of food or a close-up of nature, a speedlight is an invaluable portable light source.
Speedlights can be used on camera and off-camera with a camera trigger. This expands your opportunities by allowing the use of accessories such as soft boxes, umbrellas, spot grids and colour gels. Once detached from the camera, a speedlight can be moved independently around the subject.
The workshop will demonstrate optimal speedlight usage both indoors and outdoors, explaining the various available accessories.
Cost of 1 x 2 hour session $160 (inc GST) includes notes.
What to bring Make sure you have a DSLR or mirrorless camera, speedlight and trigger, your camera manual, a fully charged camera battery and charger and an empty memory card. If you don't have a speedlight, I have a limited range of speedlights you can use in the session. My advice is not to rush out to buy anything until after you have completed the session.
