If you are new to digital photography, or never use anything else other than AUTO setting or have had a bad experiences using film, then this is where you want to start. This workshop is designed to get you excited about your photography.
Private Workshops - One on one workshops run once a week for 3 weeks with each session lasting 2 hours. With a more personalised workshop, the sessions can be targeted to your specific needs and experience.
Session one
In the first session of the workshop you will learn about the many controls, buttons and menus on modern digital cameras. Some are adjusted all the time, some are only selected now and then, but they all have a function that can affect your photos. I will break these controls down so you can understand why and how to use them simply. With your own camera you will be able to use the different controls like exposure, shutter speeds, apertures, ISO, lens and file formats and see what effects this has in class. You will be asked to do some homework and take a series of images that covers what you learnt in class. These will be discussed in the next class.
Session two
After reviewing and discussing your homework on computer, it's time for the aesthetics of the photo. What makes an interesting image is it the Light, Composition, Colour or just the contents of the image that makes it stand out? We will discuss these in depth.
Session three
Now it's time to learn how to edit your photos. You will be surprised how much your images can be improved by editing your images using phone apps or take total control and use industry standard photo editing software, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I will show easy, simple adjustments that will bring out the best in your images, to complete your vision.
